MP Neighbours is a community-based solution to community safety and security. Crews complete regular neighbourhood routes in the Downtown Eastside, providing outreach and referral services to people on the streets, checking in with businesses, and building connections between these diverse groups. Additionally, the Neighbours program does needle pick-up, a service that impacts Vancouver by keeping it cleaner and safer. Along with our signature Employee Readiness Program (ERP), MP Neighbours assists those with employment barriers to reach their full potential.

Statistics

In the past 12 months MP Neighbours has:

  • disposed of over 65,000 used needles
  • reported and ensured the removal of over 258 illegal garbage dumps
  • safely and appropriately de-escalated over 31 hostile situations
