Our local Member of Parliament for Vancouver East couldn't make it to our Gala, but she was kind enough to send us a letter congratulating us for being in operation for 25 years. Here's the content of the letter. To see the letter on her letterhead, please see the attached pdf.

To Mission Possible,

I am pleased to extend my warmest congratulations to Mission Possible on the occasion of your 25th Anniversary Gala. Mission Possible provides an important service in the community through its employment readiness program and social enterprises. The Homeless Count this year reveals that there are currently 3605 people in Metro Vancouver who are struggling with homelessness. Many of these people reside in my riding, and are struggling with both inadequate income and the lack of affordable housing options. Homelessness and poverty are complex issues that require a multipronged solution, and Mission Possible’s innovative programs, through providing much-needed support to people who face barriers to employment, are no doubt an important part of the solutions we need.

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate every staff and volunteer who, over the past 25 years, have contributed to the success of the organization, and most of all, I wish to congratulate all the participants who have found employment success through Mission Possible.

Warmly,

Jenny Kwan, Member of Parliament for Vancouver East
