Homeless at 13
Living in Victoria, Cecily left home when she was just 13. Eventually, Cecily made her way to Vancouver's Downtown Eastside where she met a youth worker from one of Mission Possible's close partners, Youth Unlimited.

In this video Cecily talks about the many challenges people living in poverty face such as a lack of education, unemployment, unstable living conditions, addiction and mental health challenges.
Joining the Mission Possible Maintenance Program
After becoming connected with Mission Possible through Youth Unlimited, Cecily became an associate in the Mission Possible Maintenance program where she worked one on one with a Mission Possible Maintenance expert. Cecily learnt to do graffiti removal, pressure washing, landscaping, window washing, and other maintenance activities, primarily on Vancouver's Downtown Eastside.
Award Winner
After 8 months Cecily graduated from the Mission Possible Maintenance program. She is now working part time and going to school. Cecily is the 2013 recipient of the Mission Possible Comeback Award which recognizes a Mission Possible community member who has shown courage and persaverence in overcoming challenges.
